What category of product is Agentico?
Quinn, an enterprise counsel, ran an agent named Rupert through her vendor intake form and stopped at the first field: category. "Identity provider? Workflow tool? RPA?" None fit. Rupert moves requests but has no legal capacity โ he can't be the thing the form is asking about. So Quinn asked the room what category this even was. The useful answer was an analogy, not a checkbox: the missing accountable entity behind the agent โ the human-owned entity that holds the account and stands behind what Rupert does, while Rupert signs only as an authorized signer with capped authority. That framing is a way to explain the product so people can place it; it is positioning, not a binding legal characterization of status, standing, or liability. The category line tells you where the product sits in a buyer's mental map. It does not, by itself, decide how any court or counterparty later reads the structure โ that turns on the formation, the formalities, and the facts.
Moral"The accountable entity behind the agent" is a way to explain the product, not a legal verdict; the category places it, the structure and the facts decide it.
What this does not mean. This places the product in a buyer's mental map. It is not a promise that the framing made anyone safe, settled the legal status, shielded the operator, or kept anyone's money โ and the analogy is a positioning aid, never a legal characterization that a court is bound to accept.
